Mind Blown Repeatedly!!...

Thanks so much Jackie. This has been transformational! I’ve really enjoyed your realistic, down to earth approach and candid videos, you deliver all this info in a way that people can really relate to. My mind has been blown repeatedly. I’m proud of the change I can feel in myself, and excited for the changes I can begin to see in my kids (and my husband)! Well done for creating such an amazing program. I truly believe you are doing such a wonderful thing for parents of future generations!!

Without the PSC, Jackie Hall and its community I don’t think I would be where I am today....

I have been a part of the PSC group for about 2-3 years now and in this time I have done a number of the courses and also including a couple of live seminars.

This group has been completely life changing for me. At the time when I joined I had an 11year old boy and a 7 year girl and I felt like I was completely floundering on my own and that I was definitely the worse mother in the whole wide world. My vision of what parenting and life should be like was seen through rose colored glasses and anytime a difficulty arose I took it as reflection of me and confirming that  I was a complete failure because things weren’t going the way I had seen them.

PSC helped me realise that this is all just a part of life and that having difficulties didn’t mean that I was a complete failure as a mother.

PSC was different in that it focussed in on me, my reactions and my feelings. It helped me work out how I was feeling and better understand my children’s  behaviours so that I could better handle them.

Seeing things through different lenses helped me to realise that maybe I wasn’t the worse mother in the world. I got to share my experiences with other like parents and realise that I wasn’t alone.

PSC has not only helped me with the relationships with my children but also has helped me to become a more confident and happier person. This in turn has improved all aspects of my life and I can’t thank Jackie enough  for all that she and the PSC have done for me.

Yes it hasn’t always been smooth sailing and I still have my ups and downs especially now that I have moved to another phase in my life but without the PSC, Jackie Hall and its community I don’t think I would be where I am today.

I highly recommend the PSC to anyone that is struggling as everything learnt becomes a part of your life and this helps with coping with life’s ups and downs as they arise.

The tools Jackie shares have been priceless and are grounded in science...

With the roadmap Jackie has given me, I feel equipped to appropriately address whatever gets thrown my way. The tools Jackie shares have been priceless and are grounded in sound science. I would highly recommend this program to any parent wishing for deeper connection with and understanding of their child and a smoother, more joy-filled existence.

...I went to a dark place I could not get myself out of...

When I had my second child I went to a dark place that I could not get myself out of. I knew I did not want to feel this way and had to do something. I thought I was failing in every aspect of my life and was just completely hopeless. Having completed the Postnatal depression & anxiety course i can say my life has been completely turned around. I have learnt to love & respect myself & to embrace every challenge in life. I am so much more understanding & compassionate towards others now. Iv learnt that my life will have ups & downs but I have the personal strength & knowledge to get through any experience.

There's no thank you in the world big enough!

The PSC has brought something to my family’s life that I can't even begin to explain. There is no thankyou in the world big enough to say how grateful I am to Jackie and her team. The PSC’s advice and strategies are realistic and their ongoing support is invaluable. Jackie’s programs have been a real game changer for me! Thanks PSC!

Best parenting decision I've ever made!

Completing a course with the PSC was the best parenting decision I have ever made. Jackie offers her full support during the program and beyond. I have so much gratitude for Jackie and her incredible team at PSC - it’s changed our lives!

My relationship with my 9yo son was deteriorating...

I found The Parental Stress Centre at just the right time.  My life had turned upside down and the relationship with my son (9yo at the time) was deteriorating rapidly, I was lost.

Completing the Tame Your Temper course and having the on-going support of the Centre allowed me to find myself again and to stop the downward spiral.

Jackie's knowledge and support gave me the confidence to 'get back on the horse' again and from that time onwards I have been a better parent, not perfect, but so much stronger and confident which allowed my son and I to move forward in a calm and positive way.

My husband was starting to become a skeptic but...

I really want to thank u Donna and Jackie. I have recently completely the 28 Day Tame Your Temper Challenge and have been working my way through the MMCL Challenge.

Yesterday we had a day without any challenges from my son. The first since I can ever remember and he is now 11. We have also been discussing with him some issues that would normally set off a big tantrum and because we are communicating again without everyone shouting we have been able to resolve some things calmly by discussing them.

Please don’t think it’s perfect. We r still getting some back chat but since I have been ignoring this back chat and just responding well to the good bits and reminding him that I can’t hear him when he shouts and tantrums and it doesn’t get him his own way, things are really starting to improve.

My husband was starting to become a skeptic but promised he would continue to do it this way for now. And yesterday he said "You're right Em.  It’s really working.   From 2 desperate parents. Thanku.

I felt stressed, angry and unappreciated in my life.

I found the Parental Stress Centre through Facebook at a time where I felt stressed, angry and unappreciated in my life.

Feeling like I had nothing to lose, I initially took on the 28 Day Tame Your Temper challenge, which completely changed my view of my children and my family. This inspired me to complete further courses with PSC over the following months and I can feel and see the benefits in my life every day. I am closer to my children and my husband, and feel like I can cope with life even when it doesn't go to plan.

The range of support from Jackie and the PSC was fantastic, from emails and live chats to Facebook groups and messenger. Having completed the courses I still feel able to discuss things with other past participants via Facebook when I'm having a challenging day, and it's great to know I'm not alone.

I'm very grateful to Jackie and the PSC for the huge improvement in my life and my relationship. I can't speak highly enough of their work.'

Jackie has a way of teaching skills that makes sense and is so practical

I recommend all families to get among the various programs available as we all have room for improvement in one way or another, and Jackie has a way of teaching skills that make sense and are so practical. I am a much happier and more confident parent and person after being apart of the Happy Mummy Handbook program and 28 Day Get My Child To Listen challenge

It really is great to know that there is someone else out there that understands. The processes are very easy to follow too. I have done other ‘self-help’ stuff which has been great but is more time consuming so it is nice just to have something to refer to quickly and to have a greater awareness of why I get frustrated with some situations. My husband also found the book useful – he really is a super husband and very helpful at home and with the babies so he could relate to it too!

L. HABAK

MUM OF THREE, SYDNEY, NSW

At the time that I decided to do the webinar, I was finding that everyday was groundhog day – the rigmarole of trying to stay calm, getting frustrated and then blowing my top – happened everyday! I needed things to change and quick! The webinar has changed my life and my mind! I feel like prior to doing the webinar I was walking around my life with dark glasses on and now, I see things with a brighter, healthier outlook. I understand (most of the time) why I think what I think, and now I recognise the unhealthy thinking that was going on in my mind. I think I’m a better parent because I have the knowledge now to pass this onto my kids and most importantly I try and lead by example.

The biggest realisation, was bringing everything back to REALITY! The word reality – is a staple in our household now. Whenever something is going on for anyone of my children, the first question I ask them is, what’s the reality? This webinar unlocks the power of your mind and gives you the tools to stay firmly gripped in reality, no matter what that looks like. Jackie is wonderful, she has such a generosity of spirit.

Jackie is totally relatable, she is a mother and she has lived through the trials and tribulations of parenting. She is so forthcoming with examples of her own life, there is a trust. She is so passionate about changing peoples lives and their thinking she truly believes in her work, and practices what she preaches. She doesn’t pretend that this is easy or that the next day you will be a perfect parent – but her reassurance that it is possible to change is unwavering.

I have never really read anything like this. It made me realize how much judgement I have in my life. And that my mood is determined by my ‘get my life right’ model. It’s nice to accept myself and know I have implicit value despite my output. Quite a contrast from my
corporate world existence.

TRACE

ACT (MOTHER OF ONE)

I would just like to say Thank you… I have only just started reading The Happy Mum Handbook and I have already found that I’m dealing with issues more constructively. I also realise that my child’s behaviour is NOT a reflection on my parenting skills. I really struggled with this before!

K&M NOAKES

PARENTS OF 3 GIRLS, VIC

The Stress Free Parenting Webinar Series made us consciously stop to look at the situation at hand before acting, instead of jumping head first then regretting later how we handled it. My husband & I liked that it worked in conjunction with our parenting style (respectful) and it was all common sense. Michael said why he wanted to do it was in the first few minutes. What you said “made sense”, perception vs reality. Our kids are calmer and responding better to our rules. Our middle daughter has always been a handful and nothing we have tried in the past worked, this works!! She loves having choices & by doing so she feels in control and yet still does what we need her to do, her tantrums have more than halved!

Anger is something that runs in women of my family for generations. Before I thought ‘nothing can be done. It’s genetics’. Until I did this program and realised its a matter of habit! It was life changing…for me and future generations.

This has changed my life. It has changed me for the better and I couldn’t be happier and more proud of myself for giving it a go and implementing the learnings. One of the best things I have ever done. For me it was amazing. I can’t recommend it enough if you find yourself getting stressed, upset or angry with your kids or life this can help!

KARA

BALLARAT, VICTORIA

I am really enjoying the program so far… I’ve just completed week 4 and it’s given me so much hope that I can finally take responsibility for my thoughts and get better. Counselling seemed like dragging up issues, and medication felt like masking the pain. Finally something practical that I can use. I love how it is broken down into manageable sections and literally takes 5 minutes a day. Zac sat next to me and played happily with his cars while I completed the lesson – that’s how easy it is to find the time.

L. SPORLE

MUM OF 2, MELBOURNE

I chose the Stress Free Kids, Stress Free Parents webinar because I felt that I was at a bit of a cross road with my parenting and was unsure how to handle the challenges presented to me by my 2 and 3 year old daughters. The biggest realisation I had was that there is a logical reason for every behaviour and that by distinguishing what I thought was happening from reality I was able to see the bigger picture and not feel so overwhelmed. I also realised I am not alone and many parents feel challenged by their children’s behaviour but it’s how we react to each situation, which determines the overall outcome.

The webinar series has given me a starting point to move forward and develop some confidence in my parenting. I am able to climb out of the rut I have been in for some time and by having links to the seminars I can revisit the areas I need to whenever I feel it is necessary. It was real help that I could put into action straight away. I have no doubt my children will benefit from me taking part in the webinar series as quite simply I will be a happier mother and a mother who is working towards understanding her children and their thought processes so much more.

The best feature of the webinar was having the virtual one on one contact with Jackie. It felt like you were in the room with her and she was guiding me through the lessons. Jackie was a very thorough, approachable and professional presenter. She listened and connected to her audience and appeared very ‘real’ , from a participant’s point of view. Knowing she had her own personal struggles as a mother meant that I could relate to her quickly and I didn’t feel like I was being judged or spoken down to.

I have been struggling with the change in my life since baby was born. I found it lonely, hard work and a huge shock to the system. I searched for help through friends, other mums and online. I found other mums were always trying to be happy or just talked general chit chat and not many actually talked about how hard it all is and how to cope. When I found the Happy Mum Handbook and began to read, I actually cried cause situations were completely what I’d been going through and it gave me hope. Now one year down the line little one is thriving and I have the book to thank for making things a little easier.

You have no idea just how much you have helped me. I am a first time mum so it was very hard at times. I felt alone, even with my husband and my life just changed in a blink of an eye. I read so many books on parenting, but none really had anything about the dark side (lol) of being a mum. When I came across your book by chance, I was really at a low point of motherhood. I just wanted my old life back, but your book was a godsend. I’m now loving motherhood. I’ve let go of my past life and am living family life to the fullest!

I’m not a new mum at all. My son is 12 but when I read your book, I found a new perspective on parenting, partnering and home life that has helped me to cope with entrenched anger, stress and tiredness. I had tried other cognitive therapy self help books with a greater focus on psychology but your practical insights and examples were much more helpful for me. Thank you

Wonderful program run by an actual mum, not just a doctor in a lab coat. Has totally changed the way my husband and I look at parenting and has given us a lot to reflect on and the drive to make parenting an enjoyable experience instead of the yelling screaming drag it felt like it was. Enjoying an instant change in our children and even they have commented that they like the new mum better! A big winner in my book!

MUM OF TWO WEIPA QLD

Client's Stories

All of the stories below have been from clients that have worked with the methods taught in The Truce program - our marital relationship program

All names have been changed to protect our clients’ identity.

"

Rebecca came to the Parental Stress Centre because she was at the point of almost having an affair.  She thought the grass was greener on the other side and all she could see was what she wasn’t getting in her relationship and how another person could potentially give that to her.

When she learnt our methods, she realised how loyal and loving her partner was, and how much he actually adored her.  She learnt to understand him, talk to him, negotiate and compromise.   She learnt that it was SHE who had to make a lot of the changes, where all this time she had been blaming him for everything. He still had to change too, but Rebecca realised it was a two-way street.

Rebecca almost left for another man who she came to realise could never give her what her husband was already giving to her and her family.  They are still happily married 5 years on.

REBECCA'S STORY

"

His wife would speak to him with complete disrespect, never valued his work and how much he provided for her, always nagged him that he wasn’t home enough to help with their 4 kids. What’s worse was the kids were starting to mimic her ways of treating him.

Tony turned it all around when he realised that his wife didn’t feel listened to and he learnt to be able to see where she was coming from and look beyond her words. He started to help her articulate with more clarity what she wanted, took the time to understand her, learnt how to ask for what HE wanted, and to communicate more effectively.   The name calling stopped and while they still argue from time to time (like all couples do), their relationship is thriving and they’re continuing to work on their issues with active back and forth conversation, instead of fighting over the same things and continually hurting one another.

TONY'S STORY

"

Her relationship was over….or so she’d decided. She moved into another room and began to make preparations to move out.  She was handed our book, “What’s in it for me?” by a neighbour. She began talking with her husband and realising her part in the problem and how to communicate with him about how to BOTH get what they wanted. She’s now moved back into the bedroom and they are continuing to rebuild their relationship.

BELINDA'S STORY

"

We set Monique a challenge. Let’s see if we could get her fence fixed by her ex-husband…voluntarily!

Monique was moving out after the end of her relationship. Her ex-partner (father of their child) was supposed to be helping her, but instead he was being slack. Monique was annoyed.  We challenged Monique to try our secret technique with the intention of getting him to volunteer to fix her fence on her new house, so she could keep her dogs.

We told her that instead of being annoyed at him for not helping her move as much as she’s expected him to, she needed to be genuinely grateful for the effort he WAS making.

With our other strategies at play, Monique followed our instructions and called us 2 days later to report that her fence had been fixed.  Not only that, but that day when we had instructed her to change to our approach, Monique said she had more conversation with him over that weekend, then she’s had in the last 3 months!  She couldn’t believe it.

While the marital relationship itself was beyond repair, she had still learnt how to apply our relationship techniques to communicate more effectively with her ex-partner.  After all she was going to be a co-parent with this man for a long time. She might as well learn how to make it amicable.
